Washed sand dried right through in our burners to next to no moisture — bone dry, free flowing, and cut to whatever size the customer needs.
How it’s made
Dried to near-zero moisture and cut anywhere from 0.3 mm to 3 mm.
Washed sand straight from MRP Sand Quarry is dried right through the kiln, then cut to any size needed — from 0.3 mm up to 3 mm — and mixed where the job calls for a particular blend. From there it's bagged in whatever bag size is needed, or loaded out in tippers. Every batch leaves bone dry and on size — dry sand flows like a liquid, which is exactly what jointing brooms, locomotive sanders and turf installers rely on.
Damp sand bridges and clumps. Dry sand flows like a liquid — it pours, meters and brooms evenly, and it will find its way into a joint or a hopper that damp sand simply blocks. That is the whole reason kiln dried sand exists as a separate product: it's not about cleanliness, it's about flow.
Once sand is bone dry it can be screened precisely, because the grains separate instead of sticking together. That's what lets the cut be held anywhere between 0.3 mm and 3 mm, and blended where a job calls for a particular band. Tell us the size the equipment or the spec needs and it's cut to it.
Locomotive sanding systems, synthetic turf infill rigs, jointing brooms, sand filters and dry industrial batching all depend on the sand moving freely and metering at a constant rate. Any moisture in the product and the equipment blocks or the dose goes out.
MRP Sand Quarry is an inland sand quarry — nothing is dredged off a coastline. Inland deposits hold a far wider range of grain sizes than coastal sand, so we screen and cut sizes from ultra fines right up to coarse, and because the sand has never been near seawater there's no salt in it. Tell us the size the job needs and we cut to it.
