A fine, even plastering sand — cut to a tight grading so the plaster spreads smooth and finishes without drag.
How it’s made
Plastering sand needs to be finer and more even than general sand, because the finish shows everything. Ours is cut to size at the quarry, screened to a fine, even grading and checked out the gate like the rest of the range.
Plaster goes on thin and gets looked at up close under raking light, so the sand behind it has nowhere to hide. Oversize grains drag behind the float, and clay content moves both the colour and the working time. Fine, washed and evenly graded is what lets a plasterer get a flat, even face without fighting the mix.
MRP Sand Quarry is an inland sand quarry — nothing is dredged off a coastline. Inland deposits hold a far wider range of grain sizes than coastal sand, so we screen and cut sizes from ultra fines right up to coarse, and because the sand has never been near seawater there's no salt in it. Tell us the size the job needs and we cut to it.
