Feature pebbles, gravels and coloured sands for gardens, pots and landscape design — graded to a consistent size and washed clean, so the colour reads true from the day it's laid.
About this material
A feature bed only looks right when the stone is even and the colour matches. Everything in this range is held to a consistent grade and comes clean of dust and fines, so it reads properly the moment it goes down — and so a top-up in a year's time still matches what you laid today.
The difference between a feature bed that looks designed and one that looks tipped is nearly always consistency. When the stone is all one size the eye reads it as a surface; when sizes are mixed it reads as rubble. That's also what makes a top-up in a year's time match what's already down instead of standing out as a patch.
Decorative stone does a lot of work beyond garden beds — spread under downpipes and around drainage pits it takes the energy out of falling water, and graded stone is what gets exposed in exposed-aggregate concrete and spray-applied pool finishes. Those uses care about size more than the garden ones do, because the stone has to run through equipment or sit in a matrix.
